About Me
Welcome to Twin Trails Co!
As a little girl, I grew up exploring the mountains and high deserts of my hometown in Eastern Oregon. Our family property sits at the base of the Elkhorn Mountains, and my days were filled with the smell of pine trees and the constant thrill of discovery that the wilderness around me held. But even with the love of my high desert home running through my veins, the ocean also held a piece of my heart as my family spent time first camping along the beaches of Oregon and then sailing around the San Juan Islands of Washington. I was equally in awe of the crashing waves as I was of the towering peaks.
Fast forward to adulthood and I now live in Western Oregon, far from my high desert roots. Even after 14 years here, I still don't start feeling like I'm truly home until I finally leave the bustle of the city behind and drive down Ladd Hill into Baker Valley. Until I catch the smell of sun-warmed pine needles dancing in the wind.
Someday we will get home to the mountains, trees, and desert. Believe me, the countdown has begun.
But for now, I capture the feeling of my childhood in my silverwork: designs and embellishments to reflect the trees and mountains that spell home, turquoise to capture the essence of the high desert, and sea glass to represent the power of the ocean waves that shape them.
What I love about silversmithing is that I start with a length of flat wire bezel and a piece of fine silver plate. A turquoise stone that I chose because the beauty spoke to me. A small piece of sea glass. I add fire and solder. And the only limit is my imagination...to create something from nothing.
As for the name? To be honest, I started by listing out the things that make me who I am. The things I love. What stood out, in the end, was the word "twins" (I'm a mom of twin teenage boys) and "trails"...because what I really live for in life is a good adventure. And when I think of adventures, I think of walking along a trail where you never quite know what is around the next bend. So Twin Trails Co was born.
Thank you so much for stopping by and reading just a small piece of my story. Now that you're here, you're family.
